Dear River Oaks Elementary School Community,

I am truly honored to join River Oaks Elementary as your new principal. For over 20 years, my passion for education has shaped my journey—from teaching and counseling to leading dedicated teams of educators toward a shared vision of student success. I’m passionate about education and personal growth. As I step into this role, my commitment remains unwavering: to foster an environment where every student thrives, every educator feels supported, and every family feels welcomed.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Augusta College, followed by a Master’s in Counseling and Human Development from Troy State University. My journey continued with a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Harding University, and I am currently pursuing my Doctorate at Liberty University in Educational Leadership.

I firmly believe that learning should be an inclusive and enriching experience for all. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with educators to close achievement gaps for students with disabilities and English language learners, partnered with families to ensure student success, and built community engagement programs that strengthen our school’s foundation. I look forward to working alongside each of you to continue building a school culture of excellence, equity, and innovation.

Beyond my professional experience, I am also deeply connected to the challenges and triumphs families face, particularly those within the military community. As a proud wife, mother of three, and grandmother of two beautiful grandchildren, I understand firsthand the impact of change and transition. Due to my husband’s military career, I have had the privilege of working in 10 schools across eight states, which has given me a unique perspective on education and the vital support systems needed for students, including those from military families. I am passionate about ensuring that all children, especially those who navigate the challenges of frequent relocations, feel valued, understood, and empowered in their learning journey.

I am truly excited to join the wonderful community at River Oaks Elementary School. Education is my passion, and I firmly believe that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed in a nurturing, high-expectation environment. As we embark on this journey together, my goal is to support and uplift every student, teacher, and family, ensuring that our school continues to thrive academically and socially. I look forward to meeting each of you, listening to your thoughts, and working collaboratively to create a school experience that is enriching, inspiring, and fulfilling for all.
