Dali Museum
The Dali Museum in Tampa Bay Florida provides visitors an inside look into not only the artwork of surrealist master  Salvador Dali, but also to the important people and places of his life. The virtual tour allows a 360 degree view of the grounds, interior, and a few exhibits.  

British Museum
The British Museum is home to over two million years of history and culture including the Rosetta Stone, Parthenon sculptures, and even Egyptian mummies.   This museum teamed with the Google Cultural Institute to offer virtual tours using Google street view technology. You can explore by theme, time period, or geographic area.  It’s pretty cool stuff.

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum holds work by greats such as Marc, Mondrian, Picasso, and Koons.  Another partnership with the Google Cultural Institute allows people from any spot in the world to position themselves in the gallery and take a virtual look around.  Viewers can use a computer or Google Cardboard technology.

National Gallery of Art Kids Zone

Pintura Art Detective: The case of Grandpa’s Painting
Play a 1940s Noir Detective using art history, art compositions and art concepts to solve mysteries.

The challenge → Recreate the pictures using shapes. The first four Shapegrams are free. Each has an instruction video and extension activities.

The Courtald Museum in London
Offers a virtual gallery tour of seven rooms.  New photography technology allows users to zoom in to see artwork with exceptional up close quality.  Masterpieces by well greats such as Manet and Van Gogh call the Courtald home.

The Frick Museum
The Frick Museum in New York City is known for the collection of Old Master paintings.  The Frick’s virtual gallery tour not only shows images of various rooms but also allows viewers to click on items for an up close view and historical details.  All this while listening to a docent led tour.

Tate Kids
Play free art games and fun quizzes, find art activities, read about artists and share your art.

The Louvre
Does it get any more iconic than the Louvre Museum.  The largest museum in the world, situated in Paris, France, has three virtual gallery tours.  You can visit their collection of Egyptian antiquities, the remains of the Louvre moat, or the recently restored Galerie d’ Apollon.  

The National Gallery of London
Houses the national collection of paintings in the Western European tradition from the thirteenth through the nineteenth centuries.  This museum offers a virtual tour of 18 rooms and the collections they hold.

Mr Squiggle
Mr. Squiggle, the central character is a marionette with a pencil for a nose, who visits his friends from his home at 93 Crater Crescent on the Moon, flying to Earth in his pet rocket (named Rocket). In every episode he would create several pictures from "squiggles" sent in by children from around the country. Drawing with Carl: It is a nice drawing app with a lot of drawing tools for kids to explore different effects. The mirror effect is a unique feature for kids to learn about symmetry design.

Drawp: another drawing app with many drawing tools for kids to explore different art effects. Kids also receive drawing prompts for drawing ideas.

Drawnimal: Drawing app of challenge in a fun way. Kids see part of drawing on iPad, and put the iPad on paper, they have to complete the whole picture utilizing the part already on iPad. Great for imagination.

Drawing for Kids: another app with step-by-step guide of drawing over 30 objects kids love. All objects are something kids actually see in their everyday life, such as cars, houses, balls, birds.

Eye Paint: This app provides a unique way for kids to learn coloring and pattern. Kids can isolate parts of the painting and take the colors and patterns around them in real life to fill the part. It gives a completely new perspective on drawings and pictures.

iLuv Drawing Dinosaurs: Step-by-step guide of drawing 19 different dinosaurs. Kids learn drawing as well as fun dinosaur facts. Mini Monet: Drawing app for kids with classy taste, Mini Monet has different challenges for kids. For example, kids will see half of the drawing and they are to finish the other half. The option of choosing a ruled background is very helpful for kids to learn to draw in the right proportion.

Night Zoo Keeper Teleporting Torch: Fun app letting parents connect with kids via drawing projects. The app has a system set up so parents can send kids drawing challenges based on kids’ skill level.

PicoToons: a drawing app for school age kids. In addition to many drawing tools for kids to try out different art effects, all features are more fine-tuned, such coloring in a smaller area, overlay text on top of pictures with different font options.

SketchBook: A more sophisticated drawing app for those who want to explore more advanced art effects like water color, animation. You can even create the art with layers for easy editing.

Squiggles: a drawing app for the youngest kids who just start to learn drawing different lines. It turns kids’ squiggles into meaningful drawings, like clouds bringing rains, nests for the birds. A great tools for the little ones to practice drawing lines that will in turn to spark their imagination.

Storyboard That: A free website that works well on iPad, it is a great tool for kids to learn to communicate with drawings. There are many pre-made picture units for kids to use to create a series of pictures to tell a story.
