January is going to bring some more complex projects for third graders.  They are going to be doing learning about making intermediate colors, dividing an artwork into foreground, middle ground, and background, and balance in art including symmetry and asymmetry.  They are going to discovering all the beautiful ways they can use printmaking, paint, and collage.  The projects you will be enjoying soon are warm and cool color landscapes, Picasso Portraits, and Printed Quilt Designs.

Second Grade is focusing on advancing their fine motor skills and producing more thoughtful art works.  New projects will emphasis making 3-D shapes, complex patterns, and making secondary colors.  They will be exploring printmaking for the first time, as well as painting, clay, and 3-D sculpting with paper.  You can look forward to seeing Winter Landscapes, Pattern Paper Sculptures, and Secondary Color Cityscapes.

As we move into January, 1st grade will be focusing on learning thoughtful designs in their artworks and continuing to build basic art skills.  They will be learning about complex patterns, primary patterns, and simple perspective drawings.  They will be exploring different materials including paint, clay, and stamps. Some of their projects include: Stamped Snowmen Pattern Fish Mondrian Paintings

As we begin the new year, the Kindergarten students will continue to be working on fine motor skills and basic art projects. You can look forward to seeing your students making projects to practice shapes, colors, and patterns.  They will also be exploring new materials including clay, paint, and stamping. Some of the projects include: Pattern Mittens Self-Portrait Paintings Spring Landscapes
