Dear Parents,

During these difficult and challenging times, we know that continuing your child’s education is very important to all of us. Our goal is not to have you replicate a typical school day, but to offer a structure of activities and resources to support your child/children with their education.

Please see Instructional outline below. You will see a list of suggested activities for each subject and we will provide you links to access related resources or send attachments of the resources via email, Class DoJo or through the Remind App (which ever is frequently used by your child’s teacher). Additionally, we are providing suggested time for your child to work on each activity, this way students don’t spend too much time on one thing and will help alleviate fatigue and frustration.

Should you or your child experience technical issues with links, log ins or passwords, we will do our best to support you, however please keep in mind that your child’s teacher may not have direct access to this information. We appreciate your patience as we try to navigate this new way of instruction.

My name is Lorna Monica Edwards. I am from the beautiful Island of Jamaica.I have been teaching at River Oaks Elementary for five years.I teach second grade students. I love my job and I am passionate about teaching children.
I view the classroom as a distinctive social organization in which its participants, the teachers and the students must interact. For me, learning provides continual learning, growth and development; I learn along with my students. One of my dreams as an educator is to transform the lives of my students, be it academically, socially or both.
I enjoy teaching the students of diverse backgrounds at River Oaks Elementary School as each student comes into the classroom with different learning experiences. I truly  believe that students have their own talents which can be developed for their own benefit throughout their educational journey.
